Key point
There is no single service life for all car park coatings. Preparation, system suitability, traffic, exposure and maintenance determine when inspections, repairs or wearing-surface renewal are needed.

Understand the variables
Preparation quality, traffic intensity, exposure, movement and maintenance influence the wearing surface. No single lifespan applies to every car park or coating build-up.
Separate appearance from protection
A scuffed or faded surface does not automatically mean the entire system has failed. Conversely, an attractive finish can conceal weak adhesion or unresolved substrate defects.
Plan inspections and renewal
Use manufacturer guidance and the installation records to set inspection priorities. Address local damage early and agree when the wearing surface should be renewed.
Specification evidence
Request current technical data for the proposed complete system. Confirm the relevant preparation method, moisture limits, movement capability, layer build-up, surface texture, application conditions and return-to-service requirements before installation.
