Ecoflor refurbished 9,500 m² across three parking areas at Gatwick South Terminal’s premium short-stay car park, replacing ageing MMA and epoxy coatings with a flexible polyurethane intermediate deck system.

The project brief
The refurbishment covered 9,500 m² across three parking areas.
The scope included deck coating removal and renewal, plus anti-carbonation coatings to soffits, drop beams and vertical surfaces, and redecoration of existing fittings.
Working within an operational airport
Surrounding parking levels remained open. Preparation needed to limit noise and vibration while protecting operations and guests at the adjoining Hilton.
Preparation and installation
Ecoflor used heavy-duty diamond grinding with HEPA filtration and sealed dust collection. Wall coatings were sprayed with overspray controls. The new polyurethane build-up allowed same-day intercoating and received a satin, UV-resistant topcoat.
