TECHNICAL RESOURCE

Resin Flooring Around Drainage Channels

Make the coating and drainage detail work together.

Key point

Check falls and define a compatible coating-to-channel junction. Coating an existing slab does not, by itself, resolve ponding or an unsuitable drainage layout.

CarParkCoatings.com · Updated · Technical planning guidance

Check levels and water paths

Confirm the channel position, surrounding falls and any ponding. A resin coating follows the prepared substrate unless separate profiling work is included.

Define the junction

Agree a compatible termination or connection to the channel material. Movement, cleaning and traffic loads need consideration at the interface.

Keep drainage serviceable

Protect outlets during installation and check they are clear before handover. Routine maintenance should include debris removal and inspection of the coating edge.

Specification evidence

Request current technical data for the proposed complete system. Confirm the relevant preparation method, moisture limits, movement capability, layer build-up, surface texture, application conditions and return-to-service requirements before installation.
